Lauralene Van Loon graduated from Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing in 1969. She attended Dalhousie University, NS, the University of Saskatchewan, SK and Victoria Hospital Hemodialysis Program, London, Ontario in her quest for further education. In 1998 Laura successfully passed the Florida State Board Examinations. Laura has over 35 years of experience as a practicing RN in various hospital settings in ON, NS, and SK and nursing stations in MB and SK. She practiced as a General Duty Nurse for 2 years in Freeport Hospital, GBI, Bahamas. In 1998, she established the PeriAnesthesia Nursing Group of SK while she headed up a Steering Committee helping to establish the National Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses of Canada. Four years later she became the first National President of NAPAN(C), 2002-2004. Laura's Motto: "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." |
