National Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses of Canada :: NAPANC

The following vacancy currently exists in the NAPANc Executive and Board of Directors, as of November, 2011.

Officers of the Corporation:

1.  President-Elect:  This position is normally a two year term, but instead the term will run from October 21, 2012- AGM 2014.  This elected person is required to be mentored by the current President.  Qualifications for this position include: 

• Active Membership in your provincial PeriAnesthesia Association
• Experience on a Board of Directors or Executive Council in a related association (provincial or national perianesthesia or other nursing association)
• Commitment to a two-year term as President-Elect, two years as the President, and two years as Immediate Past-President
• Vested interest in PeriAnesthesia Nursing

2.  Secretary-Elect:   This position is normally a two year term, but instead the term will run from October 1, 2011- AGM, 2013.  This elected person is required to be mentored by the current Secretary.  Qualifications for this position include:

• Active Membership in your provincial PeriAnesthesia Association
• Experience on a Board of Directors or Executive Council in a related association (provincial or national perianesthesia or other nursing association)
• Commitment to a two-year term as Secretary-Elect, two years as Secretary
• Vested interest in PeriAnesthesia Nursing

3.  Treasurer-Elect:  This position is normally a two year term, but instead the term will run from October 1, 2011 - AGM, 2013.  This elected person is required to be mentored by the current Treasurer.  Qualifications for this position include:

• Active Membership in your provincial PeriAnesthesia Assocation
• Experience on a Board of Directors or Executive Council in a related association (provincial or national perianesthesia or other nursing association)
• Commitment to a two-year term as Treasurer-Elect, two years as Treasurer 
• Vested interest in PeriAnesthesia Nursing

1.  Nominations Committee:  Members of this committee are appointed by the Board of Directors since there is specific jurisdictional representation that is required.  If you are interested in joining the Nominations Committee, or wish to nominate a colleague, please contact your Provincial Association's President (see "Provinces/Territories" for this information) or complete the attached form:  Nomination Form for Nominations Committee.

2.  Newsletter Committee:  The Newsletter committee seeks a Newsletter Editor and other members, which are always welcome on this committee, and volunteers accepted.  If you are interested in joining the Newsletter committee, please complete the NAPANc Nominations Form (below).  Nomination is not required, and no experience is necessary.

• Development of quarterly newsletters which will include reports from the Board of Directors, an address from the President of the association, updates on activities within NAPANc, including upcoming conferences, AGM's, Standards descriptions and order forms, Certification updates, donation pledge forms for Certification and Standards
• All other information as requested by the NAPANc Executive and Board of Directors for inclusion in the Newsletter
• Approval of the final draft of the Newsletter by the NAPANc Executive
• Emailing the electronic version of the Newsletter to the NAPANc Executive, NAPANc Board of Directors, and NAPANc Contacts

3.  Fundraising Committee:  Members are always welcome on this committee, and volunteers accepted.  If you are interested in joining the Fundraising Committee, please complete the NAPANc Nominations Form (below).  Nomination is not required, and no experience is necessary.

4.  Website Committee:  Members are always welcome on this committee, and volunteers accepted. If you are interested in joining the Website Committee, please complete the NAPANc Nominations Form (below).  Nomination is not required, and no experience in websites is necessary.

5.  Conference Committee:  Each year, a different provincial association is responsible for developing the national conference.  Please see "Conference" for further information regarding the province that is hosting the next and subsequent conferences.  If you are a member of the provincial association that is hosting one of the upcoming conferences, please feel free to volunteer on that provinces' conference committee.  Please contact your provincial representative (see "Provinces/Territories") to apply.
